A sweet picture and memory

This is a picture of Emily when she is one year old (June 1980).  We have this in our revolving frame on our bookcase.  It always is poignant for me.  Reminds me so much of Mom.
Doug and I were taking our first weekend away from the kids to head to the beach.  Mom and Dad were happy to stay with Daniel and Emily. 
Mom had arranged to take them to have their pictures taken at Sear's or Penney's -Emily was wearing MY dress from when I was one.  Dotted Swiss ;-) 
Emily was sick!  You'd never know from the picture.  She was a trouper.

Turns our both kids were sick.  Mom and Dad set them up on each end of the couch with a towel "just in case" and pampered them.  She took pictures....

To my siblings-
I've had so many memories lately about good times with our Mother.  I've thought about sharing them.  This last week it came to me to start a Blog.  This is a place for me to share memories of our mother and, hopefully, a place for you to share memories too.  There are so many times lately when I wish I could talk to her:  tell her what's going well, of what has been hard, of new things with grandkids and greatgrands.  I miss her.
